Hosting Ball State Marching Band

Last Friday night many homes in the Chelsea area turned into bed & breakfast homes. The Ball State University Pride of America Marching Band visited Chelsea before Ball State University's November 4 football game against the University of Michigan. The band made an appearance at the playoff game in Chelsea on November 3. Chelsea High School and volunteer parents worked hard to find host families to provide overnight accommodations for 100 band members. We hosted 4 students. We had a nice team meeting our guests. I did resist the urge to play the Northern Illinois University Huskie fight song for one of my alma mater's Mid-American Conference rivals, especially since they noted that NIU had "beat them bad." The Michigan Wolverines had a scare when the Ball State Cardinals played a great game and almost beat the No. 2 team in the nation.
